How many cards are in a deck of cards?

A standard deck of cards contains 52 cards. That’s 13 ranks – Ace, 2 through 10, Jack, Queen and King – in each of the four suits: Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs and Spades. Depending on where you buy your deck you will often see two extra Joker cards in the box, bringing the physical total to 54 cards, but when people talk about “a standard deck” they almost always mean the 52 playable cards without Jokers. Those 52 cards are what most card games, magic routines and probability examples are built around. If you are designing a custom deck of cards the 52‑card structure is usually the default, because it keeps your custom deck compatible with poker, blackjack, bridge and most classic card games. CustomFaceCards follows this standard: when you build a custom deck with your own faces, we generate AI portraits for all 12 face cards (the Jacks, Queens and Kings in every suit) plus the remaining number cards and Jokers if you want them. That means you can enjoy a fully personalized deck while still keeping the familiar 52‑card structure everyone expects from a real deck of cards.
